We’re so excited to be featured in the May issue of Lucky magazine. Not one, but TWO, of our suits were spotted in the issue. Here’s a link to our Catalina Maillot on luckymag.com and see photos from the issue below!
Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky in KORE SWIM!
Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky wore two KORE SWIM suits in a recent In Touch Weekly photo shoot. This is our first magazine coverage for the year!!!
Here’s a sneak peek of Ali showing off her hot bikini bod in Paradise.
Buy KORE SWIM for your new body this year! Paradise is available for purchase on our website now.
KORE hits turks and caicos
KORE Swim kicked up the white sands of Turks and Caicos last week… Marnie chose the Maverick for her getaway from NYC – and she looks absolutely fab!
A big muchas gracias to the camera man for taking such amazing shots – maybe we can do another photo shoot down the shore this summer…
Love this one —it’s so Blue Crush surfer chic….and look at that water – so beautiful!
Evil eye detail in Corinthian bronze – to protect the wearer from the forces of envy and ill will (i.e. jealous glances from other women on the beach)
P.S. We’ve received a lot of messages from our friends about when this style will be available to buy – unfortunately not until the end of January, but if you’d like to place an advance order, email us at info@koreswim.com. We’ll see what we can do!
2012 color of the year: tangerine tango
Last week, Pantone announced its 2012 color of the year – “tangerine tango” – a vibrant shade of reddish orange, similar to KORE Swim’s very own “persimmon”!
Tangerine tango (or Pantone 17-463 to members of the interior and fashion design community) is present all over the runway and tabloids as the color of choice for new collections and celebrity red-carpet attire.
KORE loves this color – it looks good on a variety of skin tones and is a great way to add some vibrance to nude/natural hues.
We don’t have any persimmon suits available on our website for purchase just yet, but we will soon! Stay tuned for the color that’s all the rage.
P.S. Tangerine tango looks great on your lips! One of our favorite colors is Heat Wave by Nars.

Jessica & Nicole
KORE in the flesh
With passport and KORE suit in hand, these fabulous four jetted off to various locations around the globe to honeymoon, trek and play. They were gracious enough to snap some photos that we could share on our blog…and we’re loving them!
From the Hamptons seaside to the volcanic jungles of Arenal, Julia & Miriam are totally rocking one of our favorite KORE styles and look classic and glam and amazing all at the same time. We think Avalon should be a staple in every woman’s vacation wardrobe – I know we’re kind of biased, but seriously.
And the two little adorables, Isabel and Addie (our little sister), on la Méditerranée, taking a break from studying and jumping off rocks to show the Naxos locals how KORE rolls. Wearing Paradise and looking so cute! Ah, to be young again…
Thank you, Julia, Miriam, Addie & Isabel for being KORE’s first test subjects… you look AMAZING and we’re so proud to show you off!
Now we can’t wait to see more of our family and friends flaunting KORE….will you be next?
the evil of my eye
We love evil eyes so much we decided to sew one into every swimsuit in our collection.
The evil eye refers to a look that many cultures believe has the potential to bring harm to the person whom the stare is directed at. The concept of the evil eye originated in ancient times (Mediterranean/Middle East) and today people wear evil eye amulets or pendants to protect themselves from the forces of envy and ill will.
We were just in Greece and evil eyes were EVERYWHERE! Seriously, it’s like a giant evil eye amoeba multiplied and reproduced all over the country…
Lately, we’ve come across some amazing evil eye inspired jewelry… whether you believe in the evil eye or not, you’re going to love this.
Now I just need a little extra spending cash…
off to the land of KORE
A couple weeks ago, we packed up and headed to the land of our namesake. Mixing some business with pleasure, we scouted new locations for future KORE photo shoots and basked in the pleasures of Mediterranean life. It was tough to come home.
Greece is truly a spell-binding country. The food, wine, people, architecture, pace of life, and omnipresent influence of a brilliant past are a traveler’s dream…and we just can’t seem to get enough.
Here are some photos from our travels, hope you enjoy!
On the Acropolis in Athens. Behind us you’ll see the Porch of the Maidens – currently replicas of ancient Greek Korai statues. Beautiful and so KORE!
Playing on a kouros statue in Naxos, dating from the 8th century BC. Kouros is the male equivalent of KORE.
Mini-photo shoot in Santorini…little models in the making.
Rockin KORE suits, minus the black one-piece that Nicole (left) is wearing. Addie (middle) looks so tan & gorg in the Fifty Second (reversible to the color persimmon), and Jessica is glammin it up in the Beacon.
Here’s another pic of Jessica in the Beacon. Fitted, underwire top and barely there derriere ….yes please!
The picturesque town of Oia.
And finally, a secret shot of Jessica pondering her next KORE Swim collection…wonder what it will be!
trade show season!
We’re getting ready for our first trade shows this August and we’re really excited to unveil our collection to buyers and press for the first time!
Our first trade show is Swim Collective in Newport Beach from August 2-3. Swim Collective is a brand spanking new trade show and we’re really excited to be part of it. We’ll be showing in the New Designer Showroom with other up and coming swimwear designers.
Other designers at Swim Collective include ViX, Mara Hoffman, Tori Praver, Mikoh Swimwear and Tavik. We’re really looking forward to meeting other designers and seeing everyone’s 2012 collections!
Our second trade show is CURVENV in Las Vegas from August 22-24. CURVE is a lingerie and swimwear trade show where a ton of amazing brands will be showcasing their Spring/Summer 2012 collections.
We’ll be in the Galileo ballroom at the Venetian Hotel (um, yes please!) rubbing elbows with all the big kids on campus. If you’ll be in Vegas for any reason at all, please come join us for a St. Germain cocktail!
We’re planning on launching our website a little while after the shows are over, at which point you’ll be able to see our entire collection. Stay tuned!!
the meaning of KORE
One of the most frequent questions we get when telling people about our new company is:
“What is Kore?”
I’m going to tell you.
Kore is an ancient Greek goddess who symbolizes both life and death. She is the eternal maiden goddess who serves as both the goddess of vegetation and spring as well as death and the underworld. Also known as Persephone, Kore was abducted by her uncle Hades, god of the underworld, and forced to live part of every year with him in the underworld.
Her time in the underworld represents the dry summer months when the earth is barren and lacks life and her annual return to earth symbolizes the arrival of spring and color and new life.
In deciding our company name, we were drawn to the mystique behind the dichotomy of Kore’s meaning and thought it represented the woman we aspire to be – feminine yet strong, pure and full of life with a little bit of a dark side.
Also, we love the simple essence of the meaning of Kore (or it’s homonym ‘core’) and that it stands for the central, most essential element of a person, place or thing. We all have a KORE – what’s yours?
